Biographie

Adolescente, Millie tombe en admiration devant des compositrices telles que Tracey Thorn, du groupe Everything But The Girl, Suzanne Vega and Natalie Merchant. Ce genre ouvre tout un monde d’influences musicales qui continue d’inspirer ses chansons aujourd’hui.

Pendant sa jeune scolarité, Millie écrit sa première composition au piano, plus tard elle achète une guitare et l’utilise pour l’aider à créer ses chansons. Bien que son parcours l’ait amenée à étudier l’art et à suivre une formation de psychothérapeute en ce domaine, elle continue à s’impliquer dans la musique, à former des groupes et à collaborer avec des musiciens, y compris des DJs.

Dans son parcours musical Millie rencontre Sarah Jay (auteure-compositrice-interprète dans l’album Mezzanine de Massive Attack). Elle sont devenues de véritables amies. Sarah est toujours présente, très favorable à l’écriture de ses chansons et l’aide à poursuivre dans cette direction.

Elle poursuit et développe ses idées avec Damde8 vers de nouveaux échanges artistiques.

As a teenager Millie fell in love with singer-songwriters such as Tracey Thorn from Everything But The Girl, Suzanne Vega and Natalie Merchant. This genre opened up a whole world of influences which continues to inform her song writing today.

At school she wrote her first composition on the piano and later on bought a guitar to help her create her songs. Whilst studying art and training as an art psychotherapist she continued to engage in music- joining bands and collaborating with musicians including DJs.

Along her musical journey Millie met Sarah Jay (singer songwriter for Massive Attack’s album Mezzanine) and they became firm friends. Sarah is ever supportive and encouraging of her song-writing and music projects.

Millie currently sings and writes for the synth-pop band From Apes To Angels (Bandcamp) https://fata.bandcamp.com/ and has recently joined Damde8 –sharing and developing musical ideas and creating exciting new work.
